In this webinar, we discussed how manufacturer’s can assess the ergonomic impact of the design of their products, equipment, tools, and processes by utilizing the IPS IMMA digital human modeling tool. The IPS digital human model (IMMA) ensures collision free assembly motions for the human and the objects to be assembled while considering human diversity by simulating the work performed with a range of different sized manikins. IMMA allows manufacturer’s to validate assembly feasibility for all operators by considering line of sight, hand and finger clearance, and posture. The comfort function of the IMMA manikin uses posture prediction to account for the loads applied and eliminate the need to manually manipulate the posture of the manikin. Human Centered Design (HCD) is a formalized concept, approach and customer solution set within the discipline of assessing, designing and implementing manufacturing processes and technologies with the human and their physical and cognitive capabilities considered as the limiting factor.
