Topic: Two Tools to Evaluate Manual Lifts and When to Use Them: Comparing the RNLE and the LiFFT
Summary: There are several ergonomic evaluation tools currently available to assess lifts, each with their own strengths and limitations. Traditional tools use a metabolic or strength capability approach, however recent research suggests musculoskeletal disorders may be the result of a fatigue failure process, affecting tissues locally. The objective of this study was to use the RNLE and LiFFT to evaluate manual lifts within the automotive industry and compare the benefits, limitations, and appropriate applications of each tool.
